TravelFreak is the travel media brand I founded in 2011 as a personal travel blog in Los Angeles. I bootstrapped it into a content-driven business at the intersection of adventure travel and e-commerce, and exited when it was acquired in 2025.
THE WORK
Bootstrapped TravelFreak from a personal travel blog into a content-driven affiliate business.
Grew traffic to millions of annual visitors and scaled the business to $50K in monthly revenue.
Negotiated partnerships with leading outdoor brands and affiliate networks.
Built and managed a distributed contractor team while overseeing editorial, marketing and monetization strategy.
THE EXIT
In late 2025, TravelFreak was acquired by Freak Media Group, LLC, completing the journey from launch to scale to exit.
